Through this trying time I am so thankful and grateful for my incredible support system, my Village of Madness. The people that make up my village are all of you 💜
One of our traditions in my family is to go to my grandparents’ house for our annual Easter-Over potluck. Everyone brings something to share, my grandpa reviews some history w us and we all have a great time together catching up over a couple of plates of food, our egg hunt and karaoke time. Since everyone’s safer at home and helping out #flattenthecurve, we got on a Zoom call on Friday and had a virtual gathering together.
From all over The Bay to the Midwest, my family and I were still able to enjoy each other’s company to catch up and say what we’re thankful for.
As most of you know, I’ve been living in LA for a couple of months now working towards my dreams of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry and since we’re all supposed to stay home, I’ve been w my immediate family for a week and a half now back up in The Bay. It’s been really awesome spending great quality time w my sibbies, my fur babies and parents. We are already a close knit family and the only difference in everyone having to stay home is the fact that we are all pretty much present. Typically, we’re all running around bc we all have so many different extracurricular activities we’re a part of: hula, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, dance class, low rider meetings, catechism, going to the gym, etc.
Last night, I asked my sister to braid my hair so that it could be wavy for Easter and since our brother has been wanting a perm, our sister asked if she could put curlers in his hair so that he could get an idea of what it would look like. She’s got these pretty cool curlers that you string a loop through and it catches the hair. I tried to put a couple in my brother’s hair and would have gotten the hang of it if they were a little more patient, lol – it was a bit late by the time all of this was happening, so I totally understand. We had such great conversation together, I love my sibbies so much 💜
I told my sibbies that my goal is to make thirty TikTok’s during my time here up in The Bay and we finally made some today 🙌🏼
My Até hosted a Zoom call for our family today and we played three rounds of Bingo. I won the first round, my Uncle won the second game and my (step) dad won the last game. I am very blessed to have a well-rounded and dynamic family 💜
I hope to go back to LA next wknd to be in my own space for a bit and then come back to The Bay to be w my family, but we’ll see what happens…
